Just read that if all the icecaps melt, including antarctica, sea level will rise by 67 metres.
Then went and looked at the Atlas of Canada's web site and discovered that I live about 80 metres above sea level. The park two blocks downhill will be an ocean beach, and Sherbrooke St. will be flooded. Much of downtown Montreal will be under water.
Fortunately they're not expecting antarctica to melt all that soon. They expect most of it to stay frozen this century -- but based on what assumptions?
